Buner is one of the beautiful Valleys in NWFP. Its cultural and historic background adds more importance to Buner Valley. The minute cultural and linguistic differences in between the inhabitants of the valleys makes it more interesting. As described by "LoveToKnow 1911 Encyclopedia", the people of buner are "Simple and austere in their habits, religious and truthful in their ways, hospitable to all who seek shelter amongst them, free from secret assassinations, they are bright examples of the Pathan character at its best. They are a powerful and warlike tribe". They are called Bunerwals.
Buner is divided in Upper-Buner and Lower-Buner. Lower-Buner has comparatively hot climate than Upper-Buner.
