LED Candles

Candles can be a hassle a hazard and a mess at times. Some people burn them for decor purposes while others use them for the scent or emergencies. One thing I’m always worried about is the kids. I have a 2 year old that grabs everything and I’m afraid she could grab one and burn herself and spill hot wax on herself too. Sure you can place the candle up higher but I don’t like to put them near walls or to close to the ceiling. In fact, I rarely burn a candle in the house unless the power goes out.

LED lights use much less power than your conventional light bulb, but this isn’t about replacing your light bulbs with LED lights; this is about replacing your candles with LED Candles! During an emergency (kind of), for decor purposes around the house…or maybe set the mood in the bedroom, perhaps? You don;t have the smoke and fumes in the house that you do with other candles.

One cool thing about these candles is that you don’t have to lift them up to turn them off from the bottom. Simply blow on the candle as if you were blowing out any other candle and it turns off. Little bit strange that you have to blow it back on though, but still cool. Running on three button style batteries and they “burn” in multiple colors.

You can pick up the pictured candles from Thinkgeek.com (God, I love that site!) for $11.99 to 14.99. While you’re there check out the video demo of them in action.

If you aren’t fond of that particular style, google LED Candle and you’ll find all sorts of variations.
